Triple20 Wins 2025 beMatrix Sustainability Award

Triple20 has been awarded the 2025 beMatrix Sustainability Award at the Best of beMatrix North America Awards.

The agency was also named a finalist in the Best Unsold Concept category for a large-scale experience designed for Honeywell.

The Sustainability Award honors exhibit partners that prove environmental responsibility isn’t just a marketing talking point, but an operational reality.

For Triple20, this recognition confirms that shifting away from “build and burn” fabrication toward high-quality modular systems delivers better outcomes for brands and the planet alike.

“We didn’t overhaul our process to win awards. We did it because the amount of waste in this industry is unsustainable, and we wanted to prove there’s a better way to build,” said Silas Morgan, Head of Agency at Triple20. “This award is great validation that you don’t have to choose between high-end design and responsible production. You can—and should—do both.”

We didn't overhaul our process to win awards. We did it because the amount of waste in this industry is unsustainable, and we wanted to prove there’s a better way to build.

The data: How Triple20 reduces exhibit waste

Between June 2024 and June 2025, Triple20 managed 100 projects covering over 32,000 square feet of exhibit space.

By prioritizing inventory management and modular frames over single-use construction, the agency achieved significant measurable impacts:

    • 47% of all builds utilized reusable beMatrix frames, keeping 15,000+ square feet of structure in active circulation rather than the dumpster.
    • 75% of all materials used were reusable, recyclable, or both.
    • 49% of supplier spend occurred within 50 miles of Triple20’s Minnesota headquarters, drastically reducing freight emissions.
    • 20% reduction in facility energy use was achieved through equipment and process upgrades.

These metrics were also key factors in Triple20 becoming one of the first North American exhibit houses to earn Certified B Corporation™ status as of May 2025.

Case Study: Sustainability at the program level

The award submission highlighted Triple20’s work with Expresco Foods as a prime example of how modular systems support long-term growth.

Instead of building new booths for every event, Triple20 developed a flexible framework that Expresco reconfigured across five different shows and footprints.

By reusing core structural components and updating only specific custom elements, the program maintained a premium brand presence while eliminating the waste of repeated “start from scratch” builds.

“The Expresco program shows that sustainability acts as a design constraint that actually sharpens creativity,” Morgan noted. “Thoughtful systems allow us to create more impact with less physical waste.”

Finalist for Best Unsold Concept category

Triple20 was also recognized as a finalist for Best Unsold Concept for a design developed for Honeywell.

While the project was not built, the recognition highlights the agency’s ability to combine strategic experience design with technical modular planning. The concept demonstrated how large-scale corporate environments can leverage system-based thinking without looking generic.

What this means for Triple20 clients

This recognition from beMatrix reinforces Triple20’s commitment to accountability. As a Certified B Corp, the agency is required to verify its social and environmental performance against third-party standards.

For clients, this ensures that sustainability claims are backed by operational proof—resulting in exhibit programs that are efficient, effective, and ethically sound.
