The Opportunity
HR Tech 2025 represented a pivotal moment for Checkr: the chance to position themselves as enterprise innovators standing alongside industry giants.
With a diverse audience ranging from commercial segments to upper mid-market decision-makers and influencers, Checkr needed a 20×30 island exhibit that would command attention, communicate their tech-first differentiation, and create an environment where every visitor—regardless of their role or agenda—could experience the brand on their own terms.
The Challenge
- Create "choose your own adventure" functionality. Rather than prescribing a single user path, the space needed repeating sets of small zones so visitors could enter from anywhere, find what they needed immediately, and navigate the booth according to their own priorities—whether that meant jumping into a demo, having a conversation, or simply observing.
- Deliver enterprise presence within budget constraints. Checkr needed to look like they belonged next to the biggest players in HR tech, achieving premium positioning while maximizing cost-efficiency through strategic asset reuse and modular design.
- Balance tech innovation with warmth. The space had to communicate "tech-first innovators and disruptors" while feeling inviting and people-centered—more like a really nice hotel lounge than a sterile tech showcase. Clean and intentional like a museum, but warm enough to make visitors want to linger.
- Solve for brand recognition. Checkr's colors and logo alone wouldn't be enough. The exhibit needed explicit messaging and strategic use of vertical height to ensure visitors immediately understood who Checkr was and what made them different.
Our Approach
- Commanding turquoise canopy for instant brand recognition. A massive hanging canopy in Checkr's signature turquoise created immediate visual impact and vertical brand presence across the show floor. The bold overhead element ensured Checkr was impossible to miss—solving the brand recognition challenge before visitors even entered the space.
- Living greenery wall as a warm focal point. A full-height living wall with lush greenery and centered Checkr branding became an instant showstopper. The natural element created visual interest from every angle and gave visitors a memorable, inviting entry experience that set Checkr apart from the sterile booths surrounding them.
- Distributed demo zones with flexible technology. Multiple demo stations with monitors throughout the footprint allowed visitors to engage with Checkr's platform from any entry point. Stations defaulted to passive looping video content when not in use, maintaining visual interest while supporting both screen-based demos and personal device interactions.
- Museum-meets-hotel-lounge aesthetic. We incorporated warm wood grain elements, clean lines, and intentional messaging walls to balance the bold turquoise and navy palette and create an environment that felt both innovative and inviting. Open sightlines throughout the space reinforced the "choose your own adventure" functionality, allowing visitors to see all available zones and decide where to engage.
- Intimate conversation zones for comfort and accessibility. Rather than creating one large meeting area, we designed multiple intimate seating clusters—a mix of high-top and standard seating—so visitors never had to walk far to find the person or place they needed. The approach supported both quick conversations and longer 10-20 minute demos while maintaining the warm, welcoming feel Checkr was going for.
The Result
An exhibit that delivered exactly what Checkr needed: enterprise positioning that punched above its weight class.
The massive turquoise canopy and living greenery wall created immediate visual impact across the show floor, while the distributed demo zones and warm, museum-inspired aesthetic invited natural exploration and engagement.
Checkr’s leadership immediately recognized the strategic success, noting that the booth felt like a premium enterprise presence, despite working within different budget scales than the industry giants surrounding them.
